Fishing without tall tales

Fishing guides and trips in Latvia

Real guides. Published prices. A source for every fact. We are tired of stories about “the one that got away”, too.

Our approach

No registration and no commission. You speak directly with the guide — we compile the publicly available information.

  1. 01Compare

Prices, durations, boats and waters from the guides’ own websites. A source for every fact. No promises of a “guaranteed catch”.

  2. 02Contact directly

Phone, WhatsApp or email — the contacts published by the guide. We are not an intermediary and charge no commission.

  3. 03Confirm the details

The guide confirms available dates, final prices, VAT, licences and cancellation terms. These are often not publicly listed.

  4. 04On the water

You do the fishing; the guide knows where. Bring a ruler to measure your catch.

Real guides

Independent guides with their own boats and local waters. They are not our partners — browse and contact them directly.

Ask
away

Do I need a fishing permit?+

Depending on the angler, waters and trip, you may need a fishing card and a separate licence. Before your trip, check the current rules, exemptions and local regulations. The seasonal calendar links to the official rules.

Where does this information come from?+

From guides’ own websites, social media, tourism directories and business register data. Sources checked on 29.10.2026. Each profile lists its sources and labels self-reported claims. Guides are not our partners, and we have not contacted them.

How do payments work?+

Copes Gidi does not accept payments. Agree on the price, deposit and balance directly with your guide. Check whether the price covers the whole trip or each person — profiles show this separately.

Can I go without any experience?+

Yes. Several guides offer beginner or family trips, and fishing equipment is often included. Each trip description explains what the price covers.

What happens in bad weather?+

Each guide sets their own terms. Most have not published their cancellation policies, so agree on these before paying a deposit.

Can I keep the fish?+

Usually yes, subject to Latvian size and catch limits. Several guides publicly state that they release trophy fish. Profiles include the guide’s policy where it is published.
